Pollinators like bees, honeybees, beetles, moths, and butterflies are an essential part of home food gardens. They are responsible for pollinating around 75% of all plant species on earth. With the use of non-synthetic pesticides and herbicides, their lives and their habitats are under increasing threat. If you like to eat, you’d better remember to feed the pollinators!

Planting a variety of ornamental flowering plants in open spaces around the perimeter or within the boundaries of a vegetable garden is a simple way to promote native pollinator activity in your home garden. When selecting plants, consider choosing nectar-rich and pollen-rich plants like wildflowers and old-fashioned varieties of flowers. These will serve your pollinators well, who will then serve your garden well!
