Each year, The Big Garden offers grants to schools, faith communities, non-profits, and other organizations who are interested in starting community gardens in their location. These entities become official Big Garden sites, receiving free seeds and seedlings annually, regular technical support, access to our volunteer network for projects, and educational programming in the first three years. To date, the Big Garden has helped to start more than 170 community gardens in Nebraska, Kansas, and Southwest Iowa. The Big Garden also offers small grants for existing Big Garden sites to build high tunnels, pathways, or other structures.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of our garden-based educational programming over the past three years, we have made the strategic decision to limit the number of new gardens that we develop. We feel this is necessary in order to maintain the high quality services that our program partners expect.
