Community Garden Sponsorship Program

After 17 years and over 300 community gardens built, we have developed a Community Garden Sponsorship program, which will allow neighboring businesses to show their support for the wellbeing of their community and will give us a better way to support our garden sites.

Dear neighbor,

My name is Tom Neal, and I’m the Executive Director of The Big Garden! We are a small but mighty non-profit organization located on a three-acre campus just north of 56th and Sorensen Pkwy. Our mission is to teach people, build communities, and grow food sovereignty. You are receiving this letter because we thought you might be interested in sponsoring a community garden in our network that grows food for people in need!

All our garden sites are beginning their seasonal planning: asking themselves what plants they’ll need, is the soil healthy, are the beds in good shape, do they need to expand to meet the needs of those they serve? This is where your sponsorship really helps out. Check out the other side of this letter to see what sponsorship levels look like, but in summary, there are four levels.

Bronze provides another year of plants and healthy soil for food production. Silver replaces older beds and Gold helps to expand the garden space for more food production! Platinum locks you in as a sponsor for a three-year period and at a discounted rate! All sponsor levels provide signage on site, Annual report recognition, as well as social media and webpage posts to let everyone know who is helping your community!

If you are interested and ready to become a Garden Sponsor, or have any questions, email our Community Gardens Program Manager, Brittany Puncochar, today at bbeyer@biggarden.org, to select the garden that you’d like to sponsor in Omaha!

We are excited about this new expansion to our Gardens program and hope you are too. Food production and urban agriculture is at an all-time high for needs in communities where food insecurity is out of control.
