Omaha Gives

The Big Garden is proud to be participating in the 4th annual Omaha Gives challenge. Omaha Gives is a 24-hour online giving event organized by the Omaha Community Foundation to grow philanthropy in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties.

The Big Garden relies on donations to support its programming that cultivates food security by developing community gardens, creating opportunities to serve, and providing education on issues related to hunger. Since its funding in 2005 by the USDA's Community Food Project, the Big Garden has created a network of 140+ community gardens in Nebraska, Kansas, and Iowa. We offer year-round educational opportunities including classes in schools and child-care centers, teaching children to grow and enjoy their own food.

Our goal for this year's Omaha Gives is to "Stock the Barn" with new gardening tools such as trowels, pitchforks, hoes, and wheelbarrows. Donations can be scheduled anytime between now and end-of-day on May 25th. All donations are appreciated!
